How to change the world - read it all, it could happen if we wanted it to.

It is still freezing cold in Britain and depending on which side of the climate change fence you sit on depends on what it all means.  On one side, we have the man-made global warming believer (it is wrong to think of them as climate change believers because everyone apart from a stupid idiot, believes the climate changes).  They think that because of man-made global warming (because that is what they believe) the ice is melting around the Arctic and this is causing the Jet Stream to change, making our winters longer and causing this month to be third coldest March on record.  I might add that we do not have long records on this fact, only since 1910.  1962 was the coldest I believe.  In their argument, Britain is the unluckiest country in the whole world, the only country to get colder because the world is getting warmer.  Well that seems plausible, I remember reading that as the temperatures started to rise, the Gulf Stream would fail and Northern Europe’s temperatures would drop significantly.  I gather the Gulf Stream or the flow of warm water coming up from the Equator, keeps Europe much warmer than it should be.  However, it is not the Gulf Stream this time; it is the Jet Stream moving southwards that is causing the bad weather.  I remember on an insightful documentary about the orbit of the Earth, they described how the Jet Stream is constantly moving, sometimes northwards, sometimes southwards, which causes Britain’s highly unpredictable weather.

I read a comment saying this has to be because of global warming, and another said what about the two colder March’s, what were they down too.

On the other side of the climate fence, we have the sceptics, the ones who do not believe in global warming, or should I say man-made global warming.  I suppose they fall into many brackets and I bet that is why the global warming believers call them deniers, and categorise them as the same as holocaust deniers, and creationists.  It is always easier to demonise your opponent if you can attach them to an obviously stupid concept or theory.  You see, umm now I think about it I have lost my train of thought, and now I am wondering about another thing entirely.  There are different types of believers and sceptics, and the problem with the whole climate change argument is we only ever hear from the extremists on both sides.  I would imagine this is because they are the most likely to want to put their argument across.  They have the most to win and lose.  Personally, I believe the world is warming slowly and perhaps a small part of it is because of the pollution caused by man, but I do not believe in the tactics employed or the reasons for the warming.  Obviously, man has changed the climate; from agriculture to building cities, we are always changing the climate.  Does that mean we should go back to being hunter-gatherers?  We started to change the climate the day we went from hunter-gatherers to agricultural farmers, but we continued to progress.  I believe governments and large corporations, and the power brokers of the world are using it as a new form of control.  They have taken the loony tree huggers, sorry extreme environmentalist’s ideology and moulded it to their own agendas.  It is another way to force you and me to their will, to make us more subservient, and less likely to spoil their global sized game of Monopoly/Risk.

Thinking further, I wonder what would make the world right and what would right be.

If the world was right and right was 100%, right would mean we do not use fossil fuels for anything apart from none polluting means.  Right would mean we drive hydrogen-powered cars that only require a few gallons of water to run efficiently.  Of course, this would see the end of the dominance of the oil companies, their monopoly on the world would disappear.  Saudi Arabia would lose its political and religious power over the Middle East, and a multitude of tensions would decrease immediately across the world.  Yes, we are deceived into thinking that Iran and North Korea are the main stick pokers, but they are really just the distraction, part of the illusion.

Right would mean we have fusion reactors giving us free energy, meaning we do not have high-energy costs for the consumer.  Imagine how horrifying it would sound for oil companies and energy companies if they heard the words, fusion works.  Right would mean the whole world had this free energy and everyone had clean water, electricity, as well as food to live.  This would begin the end of sweatshops and cheap labour.  Right would mean we have an infrastructure allowing the population of the world to enjoy descent living conditions, as well as specific human rights for all, in all countries across the world.  This would end poverty and destroy the slave labour now seen in the undeveloped, subjugated, or poorer parts of the world.  Imagine how happy a child would be if they did not have to work in a sweatshop making designer clothes for pennies.  Imagine how unhappy the large corporation would be.

Right would mean that conservation of the environment and the creation of human free zones, to allow nature to take its own course.  Human free zones would mean the environment was untouched or spoilt by humanity; this does not mean humanity could not explore and learn in these areas.  There are parts of the world we know are necessary for our survival that should stay unspoilt.  We know this, everyone knows the areas in question, but because of an insane concept of ownership of land, we do nothing about it.  National ownership of land is such a divisive concept nowadays; it is a medieval and primitive ideology, deeply engrained in us.  We allow this insanity and many others in our world because we feel it is more important to respect the rights of a nation, or a corporation, than the rights of a human or even the rights of the land itself.  This is not just for the animal’s sake but for ours as well.

Right would see the end of popular party politics and the creation of a government not as a means to wield power and influence, but for the betterment of its region and the rest of the world.  When a government needs to win votes and collect large sums of money to gain those votes, then it is unlikely the outcome will lead to a descent society.  Right would mean we do not have war anywhere.  War is insane, war is now illogical, war causes misery and pain, and the only winners in war are the makers of war weapons.  Right would mean the end of forced control and subjugation of any human anywhere, no matter their race, creed, nationality or religion.  We have to learn how to trust our fellow man, it is not easy, we are hard wired not to trust, but a time will come when we will have to.  Right would mean all religions work in harmony for the benefit of humanity not the benefit of themselves.  Obviously, anyone who wants to be part of that religion will be able to practice their religious beliefs, as long as each religion does not try to force its ideas and doctrine onto others, especially the young.  Just because your parents are religious does not mean their children should be also.  They should have a non-religious upbringing, and if later, they decide to embrace religion then so be it, otherwise they should be able to live a normal life without fear of reprisal.  It is another insanity that we have religions that believe it is fine to kill someone if they leave that religion, or they banish you, so you never see your family again.  Or they force you to marry someone you hardly know.  Some even put the fear of god (pardon the pun) into you if you even think about leaving.  The problem with this from a religious point of view is that religion is designed to scare the living hell out of kids so they continue the religion.  Religion would disappear in a matter of generations if children were brought up without it.

Right would mean the creation of a new set of laws that we update constantly, that take into account the changes in understanding and rationale.  Old petty laws that have no bearing in reality at present would face abolishment.  Right would mean the right justice for criminal behaviour.  This is a difficult one, as I would suspect as society improves less crime would occur.  Most people do not want to be criminals, but as long as it is beneficial to be a criminal, we will have criminal behaviour.  When there is no benefit in becoming a criminal then why be one.  Obviously, some will not see the rationale behind this way of thinking; unfortunately, they will need controlling by humane means.  I hope that by the time we reach right, we will have thought of ways to change anti-social behaviour.  Psychopath’s spring to mind, but this is a mental illness, probably the worst kind for everyone including the psychopath.  How do we remove irrational anti-social behaviour without destroying what it is to be human, is a question that would need answering?

Right would mean space travel to other planets, moons, asteroids, manned space stations, with everyone having the ability to travel into space if they want to.  Right would mean we would directly work towards creating ideas that benefit society without the need for useless consumerism.  Good ideas or theories have a chance to flourish even if there is no money.  The concept of, no there is not enough funding for a project would disappear. For this to work we would have to figure out how to create a society without the need for money, or find another type of work for reward policy.  Money worked as a concept for hundreds of years, but now it is making society worse instead of better.  Right would see humanity flourish, with billions of satisfied and predominately happy citizens, all working for the benefit of everyone.  This seems like a pipe dream, as we are not predisposed to be both satisfied and happy, but who knows, it may change when more of us are doing something we actually want to do.  Right would see a reduction in population, through natural means obviously.  I would suspect that once we create a descent society everywhere, populations would stabilise and probably drop marginally in some parts of the world.  It is a known fact; if our population continues to rise, we will have major food shortages, as well as other issues around the world.

Right would not see a few greedy men owning all the wealth of the world.  At one time, a great man or woman shaped the world; he/she made it better.  Does this mean the ancestors who are nowhere near as great, should create a system where they get everything and everyone else gets nothing or very little.  They have too much everyone else has too little.  Right would see healthcare for all and no one should profit from ill health.  How evil and misguided are we that it is profitable to keep people sick and on medication.  Right would see the right treatment for the right reasons, including what we like to call alternative means.  Right would see the end of the concept of exponential growth as a means to determine the prosperity of the world.  We do not need to grow, to create more money to prosper, it is an illusion created by the way society works.  We know it is an illusion, yet we continue to follow it blindly.  Right would give every human the right to go anywhere and experience the beauty of our wonderful planet, if they so choose.  Even the human free zones, if everything was right we would have found a way to see the animals of the world, without spoiling their habitats and destroying their environment.  Right would see appropriate education for children, based on their abilities to learn.  Education would be fun and not designed around creating automatons that follow blindly, without thinking.  I would hope that over a few generations we would eventually figure a way out of the terrible insanities of the world.  Children have the ability to learn at such a fast rate, why we deliberately make it so unpleasant to learn new things. is illogical  Children as one song says are the future.  However, we destroy them before they reach puberty, and we finish them off by the time they reach automaton age, or should I say, work shitty job age.  That is if you live in the western world, it’s even worse if you are unfortunate enough to be born in a underdeveloped country or a one that has a despot as a leader, or a country that does not care for its citizens and just wants to bleed them dry.  We can only reach near to 100% when we change how children are educated, until this happens we are never going to change.  Until this happens, we will blindly continue to destroy our world, allowing insanity in all its manifestations across every part of society.  The way we teach children determines who we are and what we believe, it forms our structure and it is flawed.

If right was 100%, I suspect we are at 33%, roughly, we are two-thirds the way from right, perhaps.  Now I think about it we are probably at 25% of right.  We might never get to 100%, in fact it might not be good to reach that high, it might be better to get to 80%.  I suspect it is impossible for humanity to reach right, but would it not be great if we actually tried.
Well I went off track a bit there.  I was going to give another paragraph about climate sceptics, and blah de blah de blah.  What is the point, we are at 25%, and we have a long way to go.

Britain’s Guilt

I read this morning that over 250,000 people in Britain have died from the cold since 2003.  The story was in connection to the constant rising costs of energy prices.  It made me wonder, is Britain paying the price in lives for its 300 year empire.  Do we or should I say does the government and Whitehall still believe we have to save the world.  Does Britain feel guilty?

You know what Britain reminds me of, one of those idiotic family men they sometimes show in TV dramas.  They used to have a great job or own a large company; they have a wife, two kids, two cars, and a dog.  Then they lose everything, generally we enter the story at this point the guy is pretending to go to his job, taking the kids to school.  He then has a heart attack, goes crazy, or just sits on a park bench.  He might even just continue to go back and forth deceiving his family for a while.  His wife and kids love spending money as if it’s going out of fashion, and he dutifully smiles and continues to pay, he maxes out his credit cards, takes out loans sometimes from nasty loan sharks.  The family still go on holidays, and he just pretends as if nothing has changed.

However, everything has changed, he has lost his company, he has re-mortgaged his home, he has no savings left, and has debt through the roof.  Then finally, like a house of cards, it all collapses, and his lies and self-deception become apparent.

Britain is like that; the once rich bloke that has lost everything, but is still trying to keep up appearances, still trying to be something it is not anymore.

We need to wake up and realise we are not a major player in the world, we cannot afford to be, we are too small, too insignificant.  If we continue to try to be this great protector, it will destroy us.  We are just a small island off the coast of France.  We had our time in the sun and now the sun has set.  If we do not realise this soon, well, we all know what happens to the guy in these types of dramas.

Being Bipolar – Depressed and Manic

Destroy my life, destroy my soul, let me weep in the corner, lost in the shadows.  Let me curl up into a black hole, to suffer the indignity of my existence.  Can life be a melancholic maelstrom of condemnation?  Is it always this cruel?  The mind it plays malevolent tricks forcing one to self-deceive, never to conceive of the actuality of the existence of a problem.  When a problem is obvious to the host, clear yet blurred, obfuscating the truth, until the truth is washed away.  Only bare stones and jagged rocks lie there, left alone.  The walls are closing in; darkness is descending faster than dusk in winter.  No strength to fight back.  Perhaps the feeling of an impending inner doom clouds judgement.  How can one feel happiness, when one only feels shame and suffering?  How can one feel tenderness and care when one only knows pain and misery?  I am worthless, pointless, useless, let me lie here in the corner, out the way. Deal with it some may say.  Do not give in.  Be positive and try to see the bright side.  Try as I may, the more I want to feel positive and happy, the more I feel life slipping away.  Dire thoughts full of pain.  The more I try to find peace and goodness, the harder it is to find.  The Armageddon is on its way, it is the size of a death star and it is about to slam straight into my mind.  The molten mess; the blood; the last breath; the sense of impending doom;  that something better is never going to happen in this corrupt, depraved, miserable, world.  This world is not for me.  For however I try to please, to enjoy, to understand, I am always wrong.

Fly like a bird; let me feel the breath of greatness on my soul.  You cannot control me; I am above reality, beyond culpability.  Extremely excited, my mind is full of amazing ideas and concepts, they are breaking out faster than bombs falling on Dresden.  I am GOD, the one, the only living entity that can see and know.  Nitrous Oxide ignites inside me.  Oh, my pleasure sensors are racing, I feel alive, and I want to spread my wonder around so everyone can feel as I do.  Can you feel it, well, can you?  Can you rise up like a phoenix, burning with desire; I want what I want and I will get it.  No one can stop me.  Brace yourself for the surge of greatness.  Do you want what I have?  It is so amazing.  Perhaps if you are really nice.  I’ll keep on misbehaving.  Go on let me continue; don’t try to stop me, for I will not allow you to take away my enjoyment, my happiness, my pleasure.  Gold and light, shines down, blessing the world, at least it does in my world, in my cocoon, in my happy place.  I am right and never wrong, I am bright and I am strong.  I can do anything and I will show the world.  I can even sing, haha.  Do you understand I will tell you all for free?  This is what it’s like to be wonderfully happy.

Stupid, crappy and dull

If the mad ones were the sane ones,
And the sane ones were the mad,
If the bad ones were the good ones,
Then the good ones had been had,
If the sad ones were really happy,
And the cheerful miserable,
Perhaps the fat are really thin,
And the thin are full of bull,
If the tall were short and stubby,
Then a spouse could be a hubby,
What if sons were really daughters,
CEO’s were letter sorters,
Airline pilots might be doctors,
And doctors might be nurses,
What if knives were actually forks,
And cool dudes were really dorks,
Lions could be tigers,
Nah that is impossible,
Time to stop this stupid poem,
As its getting rather dull.

Death!

Death!  It lies in wait,
The final act before the curtain falls,
The slow creep towards eternity,
The ball it rolls slowly downwards,
Towards the infinite fall.

Death!  The cruelest trick,
What happens when the lights go out,
When the soul departs,
When the switch is flicked,
Up to down, on to off.

Death!  No one can see,
It waits breathing over your shoulder,
It lurks behind you eager,
It decides when to pounce,
To devour you forever.

Death!  Death!  Death!
The word sends a chill as cold as ice,
Pray if you want, hope for more,
Close your eyes,
Let death take you to his door.

What lives inside the empty space?

Brain-dump time.

What is beyond what we can see?  What is beyond reality?  What if by some miracle, we could see the structure of the universe?  Similar to Neo in the Matrix, when he suddenly sees the matrix, the structure, and the foundations of the false reality.  We only see an illusion created by our brains, we do not see the world as it is; we see it, as we want to see it.  For absolute definite, reality is not as we imagine it to be, it has to be different beneath the surface.  How do we tear away the wallpaper and peek inside.

I know this is probably very sad and I cannot believe I am printing this, but I sometimes sit and concentrate very hard and try to break down reality into its component parts.  I do not know what the component parts are, and I have never actually managed to break it down, perhaps I need to try harder.  However, sometimes I just want to know so badly, I yearn to know, it just seems the most important question to answer.  Perhaps it is similar to meditation, perhaps when people meditate they are breaking down the barriers between the world we see, the illusion, and the world which is definitely there, beyond reality.

Whatever it might be.

How do you break down the barrier?

How do you go into the bricks and mortar, the foundations, smash the plaster, the paint, and see inside reality.  Inside the universe, what might we see?  The fact that our illusion is mostly empty space makes me wonder what lives inside the emptiness.  Is our illusion a fact or a fantasy?  Are our equations and theories, just methodology useful in our type of reality?

Perhaps, I don’t know.  Brain-dump over.

An Imperfect Symphony

Isn’t life strange, we want so much to enjoy it, to feel we have gotten as much out of it as possible, yet it always seems to fall short.  Yes, some live with blissful happiness constantly, or just ignore the fact they are not happy.  Some try to find happiness through other means and it works to a point, but for the vast majority life is shit.

Why should the greatest gift ever bestowed on anything to exist, at least in our reality, be so utterly sadistic.  Are we at present the imperfect tool, like a great invention before it becomes a great invention?  Perhaps the perfect song, when it is still just a few words on a page.  Alternatively, we are the first or second draft of an amazing bestselling novel.

I have always wanted to believe we were more than that, but when you look at the world, we are just a draft, nowhere near to perfection.  One thing that always inspired me to try harder was watching a lecture about Beethoven and the creation of his Ninth Symphony.  The lecturer played Beethoven’s first version, which sounded like a drowning cat.  “You have to remember”, the lecturer told us, “that Beethoven was totally deaf by the time he created this symphony”.  He then played the tenth version and it still sounded terrible.  Then the twentieth, this sounded more like the symphony but still bad, and then the last draft, one before the final symphony.  I was enthralled, to me it showed perseverance, the never give up mentality, it made me realise that however shit I was at something, I could always get better.  Fine, yes, I was never going to be a Beethoven, but I could aspire to try.

However, now I see it a different way.  Now, I see it as being humanity - what we are, and what we do.  We are like a fifteenth version of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, we are getting near to perfection, but we still sound terrible.  We are still nowhere near to getting it right, we are on the right path, but that path is still long with many forks separating from it.

We have to keep trying to find the right road; we have to continue to work towards finishing our symphony.  I suppose I just feel a sense of sadness that I am only part of the draft symphony and not the symphony itself.

Alone in Darkness

I stand alone in darkness,

Trapped with fear I am a slave,

Only nightmares all around me,

A way out is all I crave,

Will I ever see the light again,

Feel its warmth upon my skin,

Or am I doomed to live without a hope,

And the misery that it brings.

Volcanic Ocean

When boredom takes hold, if you feel creative one can buy some very cheap canvases from a very cheap store.  One can play and imagine, one can try different things, and sometimes one can make something they actually like.  I like this I call it my Volcanic Ocean, it might grow larger, I may even buy larger canvases to experiment further.  I am sure it is not everyones cup of tea but hey its not finished, it was shot with a phone camera that's why it looks so crap,  I thought a black frame around the six canvases would make it look quite impressive, the six parts are 6ft by 4ft.

Fate blinded

The road if weary and long,
A heavy heart casts a shadow,
A shadow drained of hope,
Desolation breeds like a plague,
Swamping any faith the light will break through.

The ocean is deep and infinite,
It swallows the thought of goodness,
Sucking away precious life,
Drowning all salvation,
No light can penetrate its depths.

The mountain goes on forever,
An insurmountable barrier,
It blocks out the light,
Its sheer size is overwhelming,
Nothing can go over or around it.

The bridge is hidden from me,
Invisible I am blinded,
Perhaps it is there,
Yet I am unable to find it,
Should I stop looking, resigned to my fate?

Breaking me

There is a devil inside me,
Devouring all,
Ripping out my soul,
Its squeezes my heart,
Suffocating, tightening the knot,
I try to move but I dare not,
Collapsing on top of me,
Like an infinite weight,
I feel like I am bait,
Please do not hate me,
Never forsake me,
It is trying to break me,
Will it succeed I do not know,
Perhaps I will know one day soon.

Cool and Warm

Crazies run the world

It is apparent to me the most insane humans run the world.  They are the ones who want power and wealth, because they are not satisfied with normal life.  They blindly follow their own agenda, not really caring a hoot about anything or anyone.  They want to dominate, they want to rule and they find whatever position of power is going to give them the most satisfaction.  They enjoy being in control, they don’t care if what they are doing is good or bad, as long as they are getting a buzz from doing it.  As long as it fills their needs and desires, but it never does unfortunately, and they will continue to destroy us until someone with a greater power agenda destroys them.  Then the greater power pulls the blind sheep, the mob, in their direction.  As Shakespeare describes in Julius Caesar, he who controls the mob controls Rome.

These people see the world as a game, as their own private playground, they give the impression they are for the people, but under the skin, deep down, they do not give a damn.  Some do great things and we never forget them, they become immortal.  However, they are no different to the scoundrels; it just happened that their obsession was good or great.  Others are pure evil and cause a massive amount of damage and they become infamous.  Then there is the rest, they are not great or evil they are just self-absorbed only interested in what they like and what they want.  They are the petty inbetweeners, not good enough to be great, not bad enough to be evil.  They are more like an annoying itch on your back that you cannot reach to scratch.  However, the itch is actually a small spot, which can grow into a boil, it is harmless but it is there and it can become painful and full of poisonous puss.

Sometimes this puss-filled sore does not go away, and for whatever reason it grows and grows, its starts to debilitate you and it may if not treated become a cancer.  I know this is becoming very metaphorical, but imagine the world is your body.  Unfortunately, we are full of cancers, they are infecting every part of our insides, and they have control of our brain so we cannot function properly.  They have infected our heart so we find it difficult to keep our body alive; they have infected our lungs so we cannot breathe properly.  The rest of our main organs are on deaths door, if true, the doctor would give us less than a day to live.

We live on an anatomy of disaster, with the worst type of human running it and controlling it.  The worst type of human to run the world and I mean all the major governing powers, not just governments.  The worst type of human is the one that wants control, wants power and is not interested in anyone else; they are only interested in their selfish concerns, come what may they would be happy to see death and destruction, as long as in the end they got what they wanted.

Crazies run the world, and we are all screwed.

We need to end popular party politics

Not sure if I had written about this before, I probably have since it does not seem too unusual a comparison.  Extreme politics is about to rise in Britain, I know it’s not exactly the same as the rise of fascism and communism that we saw at the beginning of the last century, but perhaps it is this centuries version of it.  People are sick and tired of being force-fed crap, bullshit, and all the other political slurry imaginable by the current political parties.  When this starts to occur, the people look for extreme answers to difficult questions.  Political parties like UKIP arise.

I am not discussing dictatorships, or any kind of despotism in the post, though by some unfortunate happenstance, the fact we have the political system we have encourages that sort of regime.

One thing that is true in life is you can never find a happy balance, I know we all strive to find this, but as far as large collections of humans are concerned, this is currently impossible.  Therefore, we try our best using our current political system or a similar system.  The idea behind this concept is that if we can find the popular middle ground, we will eventually make most of the people happy.  The big problem with popularity politics is sometimes the popular choice is not the right choice, and then the party in power has the difficult choice of weighing up whether to make the tough choice, or the popular one.  If they make the tough choice, the one that is not popular and they get it wrong, it can cause one of two things to occur, a loss of political power and / or, a loss of political face.  Either of these changes can have devastating effects on the country and its international standing.  Unfortunately, we still live in a very immature world, where the countries of the world are like six years olds in a playground.  The overall effect is to make the parties in power sometimes if they are not strong, hesitate from doing what is right over doing what is popular, and then they can do the worst of all, and choose the middle ground between the two.

Over time, this ineffective policymaking, constantly watering down, creates a blurry nothingness, with many meaningless laws and policies.  Occasionally a strong party will enact a good policy, which they see as a glowing beacon to follow, and it will sway the wishy-washiness one way then the other, like a meandering dirty, muddy, river.  As well as good laws and policies, we also get bad laws and policies.  Of course, because we use the popularity system a bad policy will generally force the parties to change and the other party does exactly the opposite, believing that the opposite must be right because it is the opposite.  The reactive party system starts to grow, instead of a proactive party system we find the political system degenerates into one group of six year olds against another.  They are constantly reacting to the others policies, or laws, or whatever.

After a while, we get a system that is like a cancer in the brain, it has hideous tentacles devouring the brain, slowly killing it.  This cancer covers the world; growing, multiplying, its tentacles are devouring us, killing us slowly.  This makes people want to see change in a big way, an extreme way, because they realise the present system, the one that has caught us in this mess, is not working.  People use scapegoats, which are generally the people most different to them.  That is why the UKIP party has its migration policy.

Immigration is not the cause of our austerity; it is the popular party politics.  Voting for an extreme party like UKIP will not change the way Britain works.  It will not make energy prices cheaper; it will not decrease immigration, because if UKIP were by some bizarre twist of fate to gain power they would be just as helpless as the other parties would.  The system is wrong; the system needs to change.  Until we change the system, we will always be heading towards ineffective, wishy-washy politics.

The real irony is all of this is that changing the system in itself is extreme, and this is the conundrum facing the world at present, how do we create an effective way to manage society.  What is the best solution so that everyone is satisfied, and all have a chance to develop and flourish in their short time on this wonderful planet?

Popular party politics is not the answer, it has to change, someone has to find the answer, or the vast majority of humans will always live an existence of predominant unhappiness.
